When you look at the sidewall of your tire, you will encounter readings that represent the measurements of the tire. An example is 265/70R 17. If you are still here, this means you have little or no idea what these figures mean.

265 reads the width of the tire. There is a slash then more digits. In this case, these digits, without reading the letter, 70, the ratio of the tire’s sidewall to the width of the tire. The letter R shows that your tire was constructed by the radial method. The last figure 17 tells you that the tire fits a rim with 17 inches of diameter. Wasn't that easy?
